The Ave Maria Veterans Association was founded in 2018 and is composed of veterans residing in Ave Maria, Florida. The association is open to any veteran who has served honorably in any branch of the United States military, National Guard or Reserve Forces, regardless of race, color, creed, gender or ethnic background. Membership in the Auxiliary is open to any person interested in supporting the objectives of AMVA, regardless of race, creed, gender or ethnic background.
The objective of the Ave Maria Veterans Association is to promote patriotism, awareness and interest in veterans affairs and to participate in community and civic activities.
Meetings of the Association are currently held on the first Wednesday of the month at 7 PM except during summer months. The meetings are currently held at the Bean.
In the years of our existence we have:
•Completed a monument honoring veterans in Ave Maria
•Hosted Veterans Day Ceremonies
•Participated in Memorial Day Ceremonies
•Held toy drives to assist area families at Christmas time
•Hosted tailgate parties for the annual Army-Navy game
•Participated in the downtown Ave Maria Christmas celebrations
•Assisted with the community bike rodeo •
Participated in the area homeless count
•Developed the “Flags for Vets” program with the Ave Maria Master Association
•Installed over 200 flags around Ave Maria
•Began a wall saluting veterans at the Ave Maria Master Association Offices
•Began a series of articles recognizing a “Veteran of the Month” in Ave Maria Neighbors
We have much more that we would like to accomplish in the years ahead. If you served in uniform we could use your help. Any former military member currently residing in Ave Maria is eligible to join. We also have an associate membership for those who did not serve but would like to support us,
